Exactly one year ago, we picked up our kitty in Scotts Valley. I remember driving home that day, with this tiny, furry baby kitty on my lap and thinking of a good name for him. We came up with two front runners, Dusty and Dexter. His fur had this dusty type of color, but the name didn’t really match his personality. We could tell pretty quickly that he was a little troublemaker so we decided to call him Dexter.
I’m so happy we got this little bugger. He’s such a big part of our family now. I love the way he shadows me during the day when I’m home, or the sad, knowing look he gives me, while I’m getting ready for a Wedding. He somehow knows exactly when I’m going away and he tries every possible sad-kitty-face in the book to keep me from going. But the thing that makes my heart the happiest is his ‘welcome home’ face. He immediately runs to the door when he hears us coming home and the sleepy kitty face is just so adorable…
